Signing in

Enter the email address and password you signed up with, then select Sign in. Both fields are required — leaving either blank, or entering an email that isn’t formatted like an email address, shows an error under that field instead of submitting.

If sign-in fails

A wrong email or password shows “Invalid email or password” — on purpose, it doesn’t say which one was wrong, so a stranger can’t use the message to guess which emails have accounts.

Repeated failed attempts for the same email temporarily lock further sign-ins for 15 minutes. If you’re locked out, wait and try again rather than retrying immediately.

Don't have an account yet?

Select Sign up below the sign-in form. New accounts start with the standard user role, which gives access to Words, Excerpts, and the dashboard overview.

Resetting your password

Select Forgot password?next to the password field, then enter your email on the page that opens. You’ll see the same confirmation message whether or not that email matches an account — that’s intentional, so the page can’t be used to check who has an account.

If the email matches an account, a reset link arrives by email. It’s valid for 1 hourand only works once — opening it takes you to a page where you set a new password directly. Requesting a new link makes any earlier one stop working.

A few things people ask

Why does the error message not tell me which field is wrong?
It's a deliberate security choice — a message like "wrong password" would confirm an email is registered. "Invalid email or password" doesn't give that away.
I'm locked out after too many attempts — how long until I can try again?
15 minutes from your most recent failed attempt, then the lock clears automatically.
Does signing in on a new device sign me out elsewhere?
No — signing in doesn't affect any other session you already have open.
