Farhub, a division of pretaught.com, brings computer programming to high school pupils. The Farhub project seeks to give Nigerian students a headstart in coding, and to achieve this goal, we use a simple, local Java textbook.
Newcomers to coding are often frustrated because they must contend with a long list of unfamiliar words and phrases. For this same reason, we assume that most Nigerian teenagers will find our Java textbook rather difficult to read and understand.
We created the Farhub program to ensure that our students fully understand our Java textbook. At the end of the program, it would be assumed that, by reading our Java textbook under our guidance, each student would have completed an early “introduction to computer programming.” Having learnt the relevant new words and phrases, each student would then be able to easily tackle any programming language.
The Farhub project is designed to explain as many words and phrases as possible, while eliciting very extensive interactions with each student.
Our goal is simple: help SS3 students read and understand a Java textbook — “A Peek into Java for Nigerian Teenagers” by Anthony Okechukwu Ubah.

Farhub is built for SS3 students beginning their journey into Java and other programming languages, and for the teachers guiding them. No prior programming experience is assumed.
This program is extracurricular. This means that your child's curriculum does not change. Enrol your child in this program only if he/she is already doing well in school, and needs a headstart in coding.
